Terms of Service
Draft notice. This is a tentative draft for The Oracle (the "Lucy" Discord application) operated by Twin Paths. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Replace bracketed placeholders and have counsel review before publishing. Nothing here is legal advice.
Effective date: 2026-06-21 Service: The Oracle / "Lucy" — an AI assistant offered as a Discord bot and related web pages at twinpaths.org and its subdomains (the "Service"). Operator: Twin Paths ("we", "us", "our"). Contact: [CONTACT EMAIL]
By adding the bot to a server, using its commands, or otherwise interacting with the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) and meet Discord's own age and eligibility requirements. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.
2. What the Service is — and is not
The Service provides AI-generated content for entertainment, self-reflection, and educational purposes only, including astrological charts and readings, personality "typing," symbolic/esoteric interpretation, generated images, audio and video, and conversational responses.
The Service is not professional advice. It does not provide medical, mental-health, psychological, legal, financial, or other professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and is not a substitute for a qualified professional. Any wellness- or body-related features (e.g. visual or tongue-based observations) are informational and speculative, not diagnostic. Do not rely on the Service for decisions affecting your health, finances, safety, or legal rights. If you may be experiencing a medical or mental-health emergency, contact local emergency services.
Health-related content, however phrased. Some features (including astrological readings and constitutional or body-focused interpretations) may produce suggestions about diet, exercise, rest, habits, stress, vitality, or other health-related topics, and may express them in direct, confident, or prescriptive language. You agree that all such content — regardless of how it is worded — is symbolic and interpretive entertainment, is not medical advice, does not create any practitioner-patient relationship, and must not be used to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition or to delay or replace care from a qualified professional. You are solely responsible for any decision you make about your body or health.
AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or fabricated ("hallucinations"). You are responsible for independently verifying anything important before relying on it.
3. Your account and conduct
You are responsible for activity carried out through your Discord account when using the Service. You agree not to:
- use the Service to violate any law or the rights of others;
- upload, request, or generate content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, hateful, harassing, or sexual content involving minors;
- attempt to generate sexual, exploitative, or harmful imagery of real, identifiable private individuals, or content intended to harass or impersonate;
- submit other people's private personal data without a lawful basis;
- reverse engineer, scrape, overload, disrupt, or circumvent rate limits or access controls of the Service;
- resell or commercially exploit the Service except as we expressly permit.
We may set and change usage limits, and may throttle, suspend, or terminate access that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or harms the Service or others.
4. User content and idol/profile images
Some features let you search the open web for images and select one to be saved to a profile ("idol") that you create. When you select an image:
- you direct us to download, crop, and host that specific image for your profile;
- you represent that your use does not, to your knowledge, infringe anyone's rights;
- we record provenance (who selected it, the source URL, and that it was user-selected) to support our notice-and-takedown process.
We act as a neutral hosting provider for user-directed image storage. We do not pre-screen selected images. We respond to valid copyright complaints under our DMCA / Copyright Policy and remove infringing material and terminate repeat infringers.
You retain whatever rights you already hold in content you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, reproduce, crop, adapt, and display your submitted and generated content solely to operate, provide, secure, and improve the Service for you. AI-generated outputs are provided to you for your personal use subject to these Terms and the terms of our upstream AI providers.
5. Paid features
Parts of the Service may require payment or a subscription. Prices, included usage, and billing terms are shown at the point of purchase and processed by our payment processor (e.g. [Stripe]). Unless stated otherwise or required by law, payments are non-refundable. You authorize recurring charges for subscriptions until you cancel. We may change pricing prospectively with notice. Taxes may apply.
6. Third-party services
The Service runs on and sends data to third parties, including Discord and AI/content providers (for example Anthropic, Google, OpenAI, and xAI), plus hosting, storage, and payment providers. Your use is also subject to Discord's Terms and the applicable providers' terms. We are not responsible for third-party services.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, its software, prompts, branding, and original content are owned by Twin Paths or its licensors and protected by law. These Terms grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the Service; no other rights are granted.
8. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that outputs will be accurate or reliable.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TWIN PATHS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOST PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 3 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Twin Paths from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your content or image selections, or your violation of these Terms or others' rights.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and remove the bot. We may suspend or terminate access at our discretion, including for violations of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. 4, 7–10, 13) survive termination.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date and, where practical, announced in-Service. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [STATE/COUNTRY], without regard to conflict of laws rules. The courts located in [VENUE] will have jurisdiction, unless mandatory local law provides otherwise. [Optional: add arbitration / class-action-waiver clause after legal review.]
